SimToRoam, SimAllOver and VGTELCO are trading names of The Very Good Telephone Company Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 07724361), with registered office at Suite 3, Aireside House, Aireside Business Centre, Royd Ings Avenue, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD21 4BZ. We are an Ofcom‑registered communications provider (RID: FLY) and are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller (registration number ZB667012). This privacy notice explains how we handle your personal data in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
When you buy an eSIM or create an account, we collect your first name (or chosen name), email address, and mobile phone number. We collect this information so we can issue and manage your eSIM and related service (including sending QR codes, activation details, and important service updates), help you get online and stay online during your trip, and recognise returning customers so we can tailor recommendations based on previous orders and usage. You can choose how you want us to contact you (WhatsApp, email, or via our app once launched), and we will use your chosen method for support and service messages. Providing these details is necessary for us to supply the eSIM service and support you while you travel.
We may use your mobile number, email address and preferred contact method to send essential service information about your eSIM, such as activation instructions, configuration tips, and important notices about coverage or network changes. If you have selected WhatsApp or another messaging service, we may contact you there to help with support or connectivity issues. Once launched, our app may also provide in‑app support, notifications about your plan, and usage‑related alerts. These communications are part of delivering and maintaining your service and are not marketing messages, and you can change your preferred contact method at any time.
To provide reliable connectivity around the world, we process limited technical and service‑related information, such as the eSIM profile(s) issued to you, the country or region covered, your plan details (data allowance, duration and validity), and high‑level usage information and network performance indicators (for example, how much data has been used, whether a plan is close to expiry, or whether a connection is active, where this is available from our network partners). We use this information to provision and manage your eSIM with our network partners, help you choose suitable products based on previous trips and usage patterns, and monitor and improve service quality, including troubleshooting connectivity issues and optimising coverage across different countries and networks. We do not use detailed traffic content (such as websites visited or specific apps used) for marketing or profiling.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Where we use third‑party providers to help deliver our services (for example, payment processors, IT and hosting providers, or telecoms/network partners who enable your eSIM to work), they may process your personal data strictly on our instructions and only for the purpose of providing those services to us. We require these providers to protect your information and not to use it for any other purpose, and we will only disclose personal data to other parties where this is necessary to provide your service or where we are legally required to do so
At checkout, you can choose whether to receive marketing communications. If you opt in, we will use your name, email address and/or mobile number to send news about new destinations, plans or features, and offers that may be relevant to your travel patterns. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP where applicable, or contacting us directly, and opting out of marketing will not affect the service communications we need to send to run your eSIM.
We keep your contact details and eSIM order history for as long as needed to provide your service, support your active or recent eSIM plans, and meet our legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations as a telecoms provider. Where data is no longer required for these purposes, it will be anonymised or securely deleted in line with our retention policy and applicable law.
You can access, correct or update your contact details in your account, change your preferred contact method (WhatsApp, email or app when available), withdraw consent to marketing at any time, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your personal data where we no longer need it, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records. Requests can be made via the contact details in this policy or by emailing admin@vgtelco.com. subject “data” or “privacy”
